Gracie Open:
-Wolf Barnato came in 2nd! Woolf pulled guard, swept his opponent and came close to passing the guard and submitting. He won his first match by points. His second match was very tough and so he came in 2nd place. We are looking forward to seeing him compete at the US Open in October this year!
-Hunter Juarez has only been training for 2 months and came in 1st in his gi division! He came in 2nd in his no-gi division (Hunter had never rolled with no-gi before). You might see Hunter in our adult classes once in a while. The kid is good!
Rising Sun Nationals:
-Ross Vollmer won one match and then came SUPER close to winning his second match. Ross came in 3rd place! Proud to have him representing MarinMMA.
-Hunter Juarez owned his first match winning 6-0. Hunter had a very tough opponent in his second match and ended up coming in 3rd place!
To compete in itself is a huge accomplishment! It takes a lot of courage and preparation to put yourself out there. We are so proud of all of our competitors in August!
