We had five adult students go down to Long Beach to compete in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
All students fought their hardest against the best in the world. Our students fought other team's students from the United States, Japan, Europe, and Australia. People come from all over the world to compete against the best of the best.
Wojetch was unfortunatly disqualified over an illegal foot placement that was in fact NOT ILLEGAL. He took his opponent down twice and was dominating before the match ended.
Candace fought some tough matches and ended up losing to points in her weight division. She won one fight in the open weight though. We believe that Candace's BJJ abilities were not accurately portrayed at the World Championships. Next year we know she will go far!
Julian's opponent used the ability of stalling to his advantage and held half-guard for about 5 minutes. Julian unfortunately lost to points. CLICK HERE to read an article from Gracie Magazine about stalling when competing.
Woolf had a whirlwind of 6 fights. After loosing a close final by advantage Woolf earned a silver medal.
Brigette had some VERY tough fights against world champions and pro mma fighters. When the dust settled she earned a bronze medal. Her second at purple belt!
